Recent tests in the united states have reveled that porches new electric vehicle is a worthy rival to modern day super cars.
porches first electric car, the taycan is yet to arrive in austrila, but if the stats of this car is anything to go off, it should be one of the fastest cars on the market.
In resent performance tests, the american automotive magazine Car and Driver found that porches flagship taycan (The taycan turbo s) was the third fastest car ever test placing it in high end super car to hyper car territory.
In resent performance test the turbo s was able to hit a speed of 60mph (or just over 96kph) in just 2.4 seconds. to put these number into perspective a Bugatti vayron, a 8.0L, quad turbo charged 16 cylinder hyper car pulls the same 0-60 time and the turbo s, but in saying this the turbo s suffers a fate all electric vehicles do with a top speed of 161mph (or 260kph) the Bugatti trumps the turbo s with a blistering quick 254mph (or 408kph).
the porches taycan may be a hard sell down under. The claimed most affordable model (the taycan 4s) is nearly a whole 2 seconds slower then the turbo s. but in saying that with a range of only 192 miles (or 308 kilometers) you wouldn’t be putting your foot the the floor to often.
The Taycan Turbo S is expected to arrive in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2020, with pricing estimated to be around the $350,000 mark and the Taycan 4S expected to start at around $200,000.
